DUTCH FLAG DISREGARDED BY GERMAN SUBMARINE.
THE LAST OF THE MEDEA.

The Admiralty announces that the Medea was flying the Dutch flag, with “Medea, Amsterdam,” printed in large letters on her side, when the submarine ordered the Medea to send a boat with her papers. The crew was ordered to the boats, and the ship was sunk by gunfire. A return of the papers was asked for, but was refused. A destroyer brought the crew to Dover.

The sinking of the Medea has greatly aggravated the Dutch irritation with Germany. Newspapers declare that the act exceeds all previous acts, as the Germans' seized the Medea’s papers, and were thus aware of her nationality.
A special Cabinet meeting ha& been summoned, and a protest lodged at Berlin against the bombing of the Zevenbergen.
The Dutch Minister at Berlin has requested an explanation of the sinking of the Medea.

STEAMER SHELLED AND SUNK.

London, March 28
The Liverpool steamer Vosges was sunk by shellfire off the Cornish coast. The engineer was killed and three of the crew injured by shrapnel. A patrol yacht brought the crew to Newquay.

CHARGED AT FULL SPEED AND SUNK. THE LIZZIE’S PLUCKY CAPTAIN. United Press Association. j (Received 9.5 a.m.) London. March 28. Captain Evans, of the steamer Lizzie, states that he witnessed the tor-
podoing of the Deliaira by the U 36, and he maintained full speed and .ran over the submarine, which was destroyed or sunk judging by the oily surface. The Lizzie then picked up the Delmira’s crew.
