Vyner, the well-known sportsman is dead, reports a London cablegram.
Mr A. R. Masters, of the Stratford railway station staff, has been transferred, Mr Lithburg, of Halcombe, taking his place.
It is with deep regret friends will learn of the sudden death of Mr W. Jonas, formerly a. well-known settler in the Toko district, and was for years a partner with Mr J. B. Hine, M.P. (brother-in-law) in a large farm there. He sold out, and went to reside at Patea. Pneumonia was the cause of death. He was.a son of Captain M. Jonas, of Waitara district. He was a good athlete and played for the Clifton Football Club, and was also a runner of some repute.
