The Times, commenting on Admiral Crammond’s figures regarding the cost of the war, • says: Mr Asquith (Premier) calculated that' the' direct expenditure until July would be five hundred millions, but. this would almost certainly be too low, even if Admiral Crammond is too high. Financial circles are already discussing the prospect of the issue' of a new war loan soon after the instalments of the existing war loan are paid at the end of April. DEATH OF MAJOR FRANK T. W.
