AUSTRALIAN ITEMS. United Peebs Association. Sydney, March 16. The general entries for the Randwiek autumn meeting are 757, as compared with 700 last year. Sir Solo has been scratched for the Cnp, and Hon Ton for all engagements.

MASTERTON RACES. (My Cicero.) The Masterton Pacing Club has received first-class acceptances for their Autumn Meeting, which opens tomorrow. Of the dozen acceptors for the March (Handicap, Ararat and Coldstream should command a large following. .Vine figure in the Masterton Hack, handicap, and should Sylvan Dale improve on Wanganui form, it will take something fair to heat the chestnut. The Masterton Cnp has drawn an acceptance of nine. Leonta was on the big side at Wanganui, hut nevertheless ran two splendid races; and as the racing at Wanganui should improve the big son of Conqueror, it is difficult to pick one to heat him. Taking Dannevirke running into consideration, Suratura and Pougoro may play a leading part in the settlement of the Puamahauga Handicap. The class engaged in the Bracelet is very moderate, and despite his 12.5, Melodist will carry the hulk of the investments. ■ Austin (8.10) has a handy weight in the Opaki Welter, and should keep the opposition busy. The large number of twenty-two pfiid up for the Dash Handicap. Tirana and Miraculous are quick beginners, and may be helped thereby.
