The Tramways Union passed a resolution expressing the opinion that the Government was showing lamentable weakness in permitting the public to be exploited in regard to the high prices of foodstuffs, especially allowing the Millers’ Association to charge £l7 10a per ton for flour milled from State wheat, which was sold to the millers to enable them to sell flour at £l4 10s'.
