A large number of people took advantage of the excellent weather yesterday to pay a visit to the Stratford Mountain House and to listen to the Eltham Brass Band. Vehicles, to the, number of about twenty, and of tin description's, including eight motor cars, filled the enclosure in front of the house. Prior to leaving town for the Mountain, the band played several selections. The big motor lorry which carried the members of the Bwd was brought right up to the house—a striking testimony to the fact that the road could not have suffered much through the recent rain. The Band creditably performed a much .appreciated programme of music. Many Eltham folk were among the visitors.
