FREEZING WORKS FOR FARMERS.
MEETING 'AT KOHURATAHI. An informal meeting of settlers was held at Hr Newton King’s Kohuratahi yards on Wednesday to discuss thd proposal for the establishment of a Taranaki farmers’ co-op-erative freezing works. Mr W. A. McCutchan explained fully the proposals and the matter was taken up very keenly, those present being ■unanimously of opinion that the time had arrived when co-operative works should be established.
The following resolution was carried unanimously“ That this meeting of settlers of inland Taranaki are of opinion that it is of the first importance that the erection of settlers’ freezing works should be at once vigorously taken in hand, the undertaking to be strictly restricted to bona fide settlers only and that meetings be at once convened at the various centres by newspaper advertisements.” > <
