“HALLELUJAH” WEDDING
WITT—GREEN. The Salvation Army Hall was crowded this afternoon, the occasion being a “hallelujah” wedding. The hall was tastefully decorated. The contracting parties were Miss Ada Christina Green, of Greymouth, and Mr John Robert Witt, third sou of Robert Henry Witt, of Te Popo. The ceremony was conducted by Adjutant Gibbs of Eltham. The ceremony was opened by the singing of a hymn, after which the marital vows .were taken under the unfurled banner of the Army. Adjutant Cook congratulated Mr and Mrs Witt on behalf of the Salvation Army, and Adjutant Gibbs delivered a well-timed discourse; The bride, who looked charming in a becoming dress of cream, was given away by the groom’s brother, and was attended by Miss Witt and Miss Bound as bridesmaids. Lieutenant Wattingley acted as best man. After the ceremony the party attended at Mr D. Beaumont’s rooms, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of, prior to Mr and Mrs Witt departing by the afternoon train for Wanganui, where they are to spend their honeymoon. Mr M. Reesby brought the party to the Hall in his motor car.
