FROZEN MEAT INDUSTRY.
HALF-TIME OPERATIONS. Per P k kss Association. Auckland, March 5. Slaughtering operations will be resumed pt the Southdown works of the Auckland Ftinners’ Freezing Company on Tuesday, and during next week two whole days and two half-days will be worked. All the men engaged in the slaughtering operations were paid off viien work was suspended on Thurslay. They will bo taken on again on Tuesday morning, and paid off again i’i Friday. In the four days about )()U0 head of stock will ho dealt with, nd the space in the storage relieved the loading of the Matatua will again he filled. Operations will then h ive to be suspended until the arrival of the Rotorua, which is due at Auckland on March loth.
