DEATH OF THE MAN WEST.

Napier, March 5
Walter Albert West, who was shot four times by Alice May Parkinson (who attempted to commit suicide immediately afterwards), died at the Napier Hospital this afternoon, without regaining consciousness. The do ceased, who received three bullets in the head and one in the chest, was just over 21 years of ago. Tho cartridges used were .22 calibre, and none of tho pellets were discovered, tho patient’s condition being too serious to permit of an operation. The tragedy occurred about 7 o’clock on Tues. day night, and Westf lingered in an unconscious condition for (57. V bonis At 2.,‘J0 this afternon the condition o the woman Parkinson was stated t> be slgibtly improving. An inquest into the cause of the death ol West will he opened to-morrow.
