The weather was beautiful, and tliere was an average crowd. People looked for keen racing m me weig.i.-for-age races, and got more surprises th..n t'uey bargained for. Ihe Lloyd Suuios had ueoii regarded as a gift for Mountain Knight, the only other horse attracting attention being Jolly Beggar, whose form was good. Traquette won away with a dash, and was never caught. A performance that was more pronounced was in the Loch I'iate, but in the first case Traquette won on her merits. In the other, the jockeys of Carlita and Land o' Song whon finishing were caught napping. Hayston increasing nis lead wn.lo the other two were watching each other. Hayston was loudly cheered. Onager's race was regarded as a foregone conclusion alter his performance on the first day. Itesults: —
