Harcourt ((Colonial Secretary), replying in the House of Commons to Mr Outhwaite, stated that his attention had been drawn to Mr Fisher's condemnation of Governor Galway's speech re.a "White Australia. He (Mr Harcourt) denied writing to any of the. Governors of the SelfGoverning States suggesting that an endeavour should he made to secure a remission of the restrictions against the Indians in view of the services of the Indian Troops..
