COALHEAVERS' STRIKE. - London, February 27. Malta coal-heavers have struck for higher wages.
A BASEBALL INCIDENT. Sydney, February 28. During the international baseball match between Australia and America two mis-hits landed amongst the spectators in the pavilion. Mr Flowers (Vice-president of the Executive Council) rushed on to the ground and ordered the players to stop “this damned silly game.”
METHODIST CONFERENCE. Sydney, February 28. The Methodist Conference agreed to transfer the Rev. Carr to ‘ foreign mission work. NO BISLEY THIS YEAR. London, February 27. I here will be no Bisley meeting In 1915.
CHINESE SOLDIERS UNMANAGEABLE. Times and Sydney Sun Service. London, February 24. Pekin reports that General Chaoghsun’s soldiers became unmanageable, and stoned an Englishman at Pukow, wrecked a theatre at Nanking, and spat in a European lady’s face.
BOMB THROWN IN SOFIA THEATRE. Paris, February 26. A bomb was thrown during a gala performance in Sofia on February the Llth in the vicinity of a box wherein was the wife of the Premier, M. Ra. doslavoff. Twenty persons died from the injuries received, . including a daughter of M; Fitcheff, the Minister for War. The motive of the crime is not disclosed.
