Essendon Stakes, one mile and ahalf. —Land of Song 1, Di Gama 2, Pistol King 3. Time, 2min 50sec. Brunswick Stakes, one mile and a quarter.— Winnipeg 1, Onai-er 2, Beccassino 3. Sixteen started. Time, 2min 7scc.

WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB. The totalizator handled £29,991 10s, as against £30.294 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £57,138, as against £57,201 for the same meeting last year. Additional results:—

Wanganui Stakes, one mile and ahalf.—Ladoga 1, llinaldo 2, Fair Rosamond 3. All started. llinaldo being entrusted with most money, though Ladoga and several others were well backed. A fine start saw Byron and Mouton Girl lead a bunched crowd into the straight, Ladoga and Marshal McDonald being last. Passing the stand the order was the same, El Gallo being third and Invader fourth. El Gallo rushed to the front at the six furlong post, followed by Moutoa Girl. Goldsi/.e, and Fair Rosamond. Three furlongs from home Fair Rosamond led llinaldo, with Ladoga coming fast, Ladoga and llinaldo came into the straight together, but the former had too much foot for llinaldo, and won easily, with Kilrain, Invader, Master Lupin, and El Gallo next. : Harrison Hack Handicap,one mile and a distance.—Ararat T, Sylvan Dale 2, Qua Vadis 3. Scratched: New York

and Rosalys. Quo Vadis, Draft, and Ararat were evenly backed. Sylvan Dale was in front for seven furlongs, but Ararat bad her measure at the turn, and won very easily. Draft was fourth, and Combustion next. Time, I min 58sec.

Farewell Handicap, six furlongs.— Belasco 1, Clmkwana 2,, lueuru 3. Scratched: Grattan. Won easily by •>

length. Postilljon was very heavily backed, but a surprise awaited backers, the light-weights, Belasco and Chakwana being in front all the way. Time, Irniu Llsec.

After the last race Eligible' defeated Spain in a match over four furlongs.

The appellate Board of the New Zealand Racing Conference to-day leard an appeal hy R. Young against ‘he disqualification for twelve months imposed on him by the .Martin Jockey Club on a charge of obviously pulling the horse ho was riding. The appeal was dismissed. Aboard the Taimii, which arrived at Wellington from London on Saturday, wore two thoroughbred horses consigned to G. -M. Currie, of Wanganui. One is the stallion Absurd, said to be one of the best two-year-olds in England. He is by Sun bridge, out of Absurdity, and is full brother to Jester, winner of the Oaks and Thousand Guineas. Ho is also half brother to Black Jester, Who won the St. Leger. The other importation is the mare Eulogy, by Cicero—Kelibia.
