PERSONAL.
The Rev. A. T. Holden has elected President cf the ’Victorian Methodist Conference. The Hon. K. M. Grak, previously Minister for public instruction in the Queensland Government, succeeds Mr Appel, states the cables. Baron De Reuter, on the occasion of the jubilee of the company* received many telegrams and congratulations from Ministers, Ambassadors, and the Dominions’ High Commissioners, states a London cablegram.
The death took place yesterday at Cordon Hoad, Toko, of Robert Mumby, an old settler, at the age of 76. The funeral takes place to-morrow (Sunday), leaving Gordon Road at 1.30 for the Kopuatama Cemetery.
Mr Alfred Billing, a member of the Thames bowling team which is visiting Auckland, fell from the Takapuna tram last night (states the Press Association). He sustained concussion of the brain and died in the Auckland" hosoital this morning.
