The Wanganui Jockey Club's Autumn meeting opened to-day in fine weather, with a large attendance. Results:
Stewards' Handicap, of 200 sovs., one mile and 110yds.—Ladoga 1, Astor 2, Invader 3. All started. Won by a neck, two lengths between second and third. Time 1.47.
Petre Hack Handicap, of 120sovs, six furlongs.—Avon Park l.TSew York 2, Marimba 3. Scratched: Banksia. Won by half a length, half a length between second and third. Time, 1.14 3-ssecs
Westmere Hurdles, of 200 sovs, two miles.—Styrax 1, Flingot 2, Leapuki 3. Scratched: The Rover, Tirohanga. Won by a length and a-half, similar distance between scond and third. Time 2.58 2-ssecs.
Tayforth Hurdles, of 120sovs, one mile and three-quarters—Kew 1, Naupata 2, St. Gate 3. Also started: Tirohanga. Won easily. Time 3.10 3-ssecs.
The Cup, of 900sovs., one mile and three-quarters.—-Master Lupin 1, Rin-| aldo 2, Kilrain 3. Scratched: Byron. Master Lupin took command a mile ; from home and won easily by two lengths, four lengths between second and third horses. Time 3min 0 3-ssec, a record.
