FIRE BRIGADE CONGRESS.
OPENING OF DEMONSTRATION.
Timaru, February 25
The Fire Brigade demonstration opened in the Park this morning. The attendance was good and the entries large. Results:— One-man Ladder: Timaru (J. Wain die) (7 3-ssecs), 1; Hawera (8 1-osec), Taihape (8 l-ssec), Hokitika (8 1-5 sec), equal 2. Palmerston North 8 2-ssec) and Devonport 8 3-ssec) also competed. In the run-off for second place, Hawera beat Taihape.
