Timaru, February 22. The Fire Brigade Conference continued this afternoon.
dhe Pahiatua remit was carried, requesting the Government to frame a by-law dealing with the storage of explosives generally. The elections resulted in Mr Campbell (Timaru) being elected as president, Mr Scantlebury withdrawing. Messrs Hean (Addintgon), Scantlebury (Reefton), \dere elected vice-presi-dents, out of 23 nominations. Mr Os, borne (Onehunga) was re-elected treasure!;. The retiring president, Mr Salmon, was elected an honorary life member.
It was arranged that the executive should meet the Minister on Wednesday in regard to the compulsory installation of automatic fire alarms in largo stores, warehouses, boardinghouses, and hotels.
