The weather was hot and the wicket fast. Queensland in their first , innings scored 137 runs (Sheppard 40, Thompson 18, M. Andrews ,not out 10).

The Inter-provincial cricket match between Otago arid Southland was concluded at Rugby Park to-day and resulted in a win for Otago by 118 runs. | At the conclusion of the first day’s play on Wednesday Otago had lost live . wickets for 148 runs, and continuing I to-day were all out for 166, Doy getting four wickets for seven runs today, and ending up the innings with an average of seven wickets for 46. I Southland did not make a prolonged stand against the bowling of Crawford (seven for 37), and Keideberg (four for 2d), and their first innings closed for 71 runs •
Otago closed their second innings with three wickets down' for 85 runs —Puckwell 35. This left Southland 180 to get to win, but the side could only read the small total of 62 runs (Jas.
Gilbertson 2(5). Crawford and Siedeberg were again the most successful bowlers, the former getting four wickets for 2(5 runs, and the latter six for 30.
