Eight or ten German army corps are operating in East Prussia. The Russians expected to. manoeuvre, but were outnumbered tenfold, and retired betimes, the Light Horse carrying on a • running fight. PRISONERS AND BOOTY FOR GERMANY. (Received 1.10 p.m.) Amsterdam, February 18. An official message from Berlin states that tho Germans took 3000 prisoners near Block, with great quantities of booty. Eastward of the Prussian frontier to date, they have captured (34,000 prisoners, 71 cannon, 100 machine gnus, three ambulance trains, 150 full ammunition waggons, and innumerable cars and horses.
