Evidence showed that De Wet, in addressing his coujmando, stated thpt ; the rebellion was planned when Herti z.og left the Ministry. fl Do Wet, in another speech at Vachtkup, remarked that when he got to Johannesburg they would act like pGermans and make the capitalists pay. A witness, testified that De Wet, in addressing thb. said, that Maritz had been placed by God’s providence on the, German border, where they would get arms and ammunition from the Germans. The latter had aly ways been their friends, and‘Maritz, and the German Governor had an nnderstanding that when the Republic was established Germany would Acknowledge her independence. They would only have given Walfisch Bay to Germany. ■
