The totalisator investments were £23,601 10s, as against £24,644 on the corresponding day last year. Additional results:—

Dunedin Cup, of 1000sovs., one mile and a-half.—l Warstep l r 6 Ogier 2, 5 Specialform 3. Also started: 4 First Glance, 8 Hesione, 3 United Service, 10 John Barleycorn, 2 Snapdragon, 9 Peg, 11 Directoire, 7 Ngatiruanui, Shortly after passing the mile post Warstep went to the front, and at the half-mile was just leading First Glance, with Ogier next. Warstep and First Glance were together turning into the straight, but the latter was done with inside the distance. Ogier then came with a great run, but was defeated by half a head, with Specialform two lengths away. The winner received a great ovation. Time 2min 36sec.

EMERSON'S APPEAL DISMISSED.

Dunedin, February 17

In the matter of the appeal by 0. , R. Emerson, jockey, against the decision of the Wellington District Committee in dismissing the appeal lodged by him against the decision of the stewards of the Wellintgon Racing Club in suspending him until March 31st, 1915, for negligence in riding, in that he pulled his mount Sutala back somewhat, and endeavored to go into the rails, without first ascertaining that he was not interfering with any other horses, with the result that the horse Bimeter struck his mount, and so caused an accident, the judges of the Racing Conference decided as follows to-night: "We are of opinion that Emerson was guilty of negligence in riding, and we therefore dismiss the appeal." ■
