There was again a good attendance of spectators, and some exciting racing resulted. Some good times were put up, but no records lowered. Results: 100yds Inter-Club Handicap.—-O. WELLINGTON v. HAWKE’S BAY.
Wellington, February 15,
Ideal cricketing weather prevailed for the continuation of the Wellington v. Hawke’s Bay match to-day. The wicket was in first-class order. Wellington had a lead of 62 runs on the first innings, and had made 266 .for the loss of nine wickets in their second when Tucker, the Wellington captain, declared.. The task set Hawke’s Bay in order to secure a win was not a light one, and although a valiant effort was made the visitors were not equal to it, the last wicket falling when they were T 1 runs behind. The display of Board, for Hawke’s Bay with the hat, was very interesting. He made 134.
