At the resumption of the wool sales, although the embargo on American export remains in force, Americans are buying heavily, and most of the better class of merinos is largely snapped up for that destination. There were 6600 bales catalogued, competition be, mg exceedingly strong with satisfactory clearances. The better class of merinos is unchanged; medium meri,nos .and crossbreds generally showed further improvement on the extreme rates ruling a fortnight ago.
