Times and Sydney Sun Service. (Received 8 a.m.) Loudon, February 13. One of the Allies’ aviators flew over Antwerp on Friday and dropped leaflets, saying:-“Keep up your courage! We are coming!”
“WILD DUCKS ON THE WING.”
London, February 14
Twenty-two aeroplanes on the southeast coast made a fascinating spectacle as they were leaving sea-wards, singly strung across the Channel like a flight of wild duck. It is estimated that they crossed in twenty minutes. It is pointed out that this is the largest number of aeroplanes ever engaged in the same operations. Dunkirk, February 14.
The airmen’s bombs completely des. troyed the Ostend railway goods yards.
FRENCH AIRMEN’S SUCCESS
Pjaris, February 14
Five airmen bombed and damaged an aerodrome at Habsheim, near Mulhansen, and killed the keeper.
FRENCH AVIATOR SUCCESSFULLY ENGAGES THREE GERMANS.
(Received 9.25 a.m.) Paris, February 14
Semi-official: A French aviator with a machine gunner chased a Taubo, and after a minute’s hot firing the Tauhe fell in flames, the wings being torn to ribbons. The Frenchman then attack two other aeroplanes. The first shot struck one, and the Frenchman boro down on it vertically, bring inceshautly, and it suddenly fell like a stone. ‘ The Frenchman rose 1500 metres and engaged the third aeroplane. The latter replied with an automatic rifle fire but began falling after a minute with a tilted left wing. The Frenchman volplaned, firing continually, and the German dashed to the ground. The Frenchman was bombarded with shells, but returned to the French lines safely.
