SWIMMING.
The secoid race of the Master's Cup was held : pn Thursday afternoon at the swimming baths, and drew a considerable number of spectators. As the handieappers had been able to get the power of each competitor from Tuesday's 50 yards race, the heats and the final were much more keenly conteste.
The first heat was won by C. Kivell (scratch), with W. Kivell (ssec) 2nd, and P. Oxley (7sec) 3rd. Only three started in the 2nd heat ; and same was won by N. Kivell (Bsec), R. Foden (scratch) being 2nd, and D. Thurston (6sec), was the- other starter. After a good race the final fell to C. Kivell, with N, Kivell 2nd, and R. Foden 3rd.
The position of the swimmers is now as follows: —C. Kivell 5 points, W. Kivell 3 points, N. Kivell 2 points, D. Thurston and R. Foden 1 point each. The next race is to be either 100 or 220 yards, and will be swum on Tuesday next at 6 p.m., to which all persons interested are specially invited to attend.
The Club is holding a monster carnival on Thursday, the 18th inst., the net proceeds of which are to go to the Belgian Relief Fund, and all are earnestly requested to liberally support this most worthy cause.
