The Supreme Court criminal sessions were continued to-day before Mr Justice Chapman. John Sa!o, an elderly Russian Finn, employed as night watchman at a timber yard, pleaded not guilty to discharging a revolver at a drover named Thomas Blinkhoru. The evidence showed that Blinkhoru and three other drovers, who were under the influence of drink, visited the timber yard and had an altercation with the nigli 1 - watchmau, who fired a revolver, ailedgly to frighten them away. The jury, after a short retirement, returned a verdict of not guilty. The trial of Arthur Rottman for alleged murder at Ruahine takes place to-morrow. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, February 11. , At the Supreme Co fi rF, James Lyons, a farmer, who was charged with stealing sheep at Ohaeawai, was found “not guilty,” and was discharged.
