Auckland, February 10

As a result of the coroner’s finding at the inquest, Harry Johnston .was charged with manslaughter in the Police Court to-day, it being alleged that it was due to his negligence that James Porter was killed at Header son on January 20th. The accident, in which Porter received fatal injuries, occurred during the erection of a railway signal post. ‘Accused reserved his defence, and, pleading “not guilty,” was committed for trial. Bail was allowed as before.
