CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS.

At the Supreme Court, William John Lawrence (62), for indecent assault on a girl aged four years, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. Frederick Thomas Bonham was sentenced to two years for indecent assault.

WELLINGTON SESSIONS

When the Supreme Court opened today, His Honor Mr Justice Chapman, who presided, commented upon the smallness of the criminal calendar. Interest centred in the Rottmann case. Hire Wipo was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment for indecent assault at Waitotara. Andrew Crane Birss, alleged breaking and entering, with intent to commit a crime, was acquitted.
