ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
FISHING FATALITY. Per Press (Association. , Gisborne, February 8. William' John Wood, aged 32, was drowned at' Tologa Bay on Saturday night, whilst setting a net in the river. WITNESS CLOSED HIS EYES. Wellington, February 9. At the inquest in the death* of Trooper Black, a verdict of accidental death was returned. Charles Burridge, train examiner, stated he saw the Trooper drop off a stationary train and 'run in• front of an-incoming, .train. Witness closed his eyes and did not see* the train'‘actually strike Black.
