DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Per Press Association. Dunedin, Fooruaiy S At the Supreme Court to-day. David Murray Dickson was arraigned on three charges of forgery and one charge of false pretences. Accused lit first pleaded not guilty, but alter hearing evidence withdrew that plea, and Mr, Brasch made an appeal for leniency. Judge Dennston said lie would give the. prisoner another chance, as he did not wish to make a criminal of him. He had already suffered two months’ imprison merit The prisoner was placed under probation for twelve months, ~and ornered to pay the .costs (£5) of the Persecution. His -Honor declined to order restitution to publicans, as bo did not consider they should he r nconragec io cash cheques.
