BOWLING.

STRATFORD V. FITZROY. Yesterday the bowlers who formed part o the picnic at East End made up throe rinks to play against Fitzroy, and some interesting play took place, and although Stratord players were victorious at two rinks out of three, on the total scores they lost by 10. At the conclusion o the match, Mr G. Smart, on behalf of the visitors, tendered to the local club the very hearty thanks of the picnickers for providing them with an enjoyable game and entertaining them so hospitably. Mr F. Jackson, president of the Fitzroy Club, briefly acknowledged the compliment, and an exchange of cheers brought to a close a most pleasant game. Following are the scores, jStratford being mentioned first in each case:— Sanderson, Wilson, Fookes Skoglund (s), 18; v. Reid, Coxhead, Hartuell, Clinch (s), 13. Lo'pdell, Edgecombe, Martin, C. Smart (s). 11; v. Oxenham, Hooker, Welter, Crawshaw (s), 27. J. McDonald, F. J. McDonald, W. McDonald, J. W. McMillan (s), 18 ; v. Hill. Walker, Johnson, Smith (s), 17.

The following three rinks have been selected to represent Stratford to play Piiiama to-morrow afternoon "at 2 p.m. Players to provide usual basket. .Masters, Morison, Reeve, Wright; Nicholson, Leversedge, McMillan Stewart; King, Hartley, Smart, Fookes. The following are the draws in the pairs competition for the colts now proceedings: Evans and Cottier; Lopdell and Martin; Childs and Leversedge ; Kobson and C.
