DREADED SMALLPOX. SIX HUNDRED CASES REPORTED IN VIENNA . TIMM AND SIDNIY Sun SIBVIOM. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, January 29. Six hundred cases of smallpox are reported in Vienna. ENEMY MOVEMENTS IN THE MOUNTAINS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) Petrograd, January 29.
The Austro.German movement is developing along the Dukla-Wysezkow front, which is approximately one hundred miles. The columns are trying to cross the mountains by numerous passes, and presumably Przemysl is the objective.
The. Turks obtained considerable reinforcements in the Caucasus, and are developing vigorous attacks which were repulsed.
THE RUSSIAN ADVANCE. SATISFACTORY PROGRESS RE-I PORT. United Paeai Association. (Received 8.20 a.m.) Petrograd, January 29. A communique says: We repulsed the Germans north of Tilsit and destroyed Pagcgen station. We are advancing in the home districts of Til. koalen and Gumb'innen. Russian artillery silenced several batteries and inflicted great losses in the trenches on the left bank of the Vistula. The fighting rom the; Dukla Pass to St. llgimunkas on Tuesday and Wednesday resulted in our favour, especially south-west of Dukla, where the enemy retreated, abandoning ammunition. Petrograd, January 29. The Zeppelin crew at Libau are not being treated as prisoners, but as criminals, and have been court-martial-led on a charge of murder, or attempted murder, in attacking an undefended place.
