TRIAL OF TWO TRAITORS. BRAND AND WESSELS IN THE DOCK. United Press Association. (Received 8.20 a.m.) Capetown, January 29. The trial of Brand and Wessels revealed that Wessels headed a deputation to General Botha and demanded his resignation. General Botha declared he would not resign and was determined to suppress the rebellion. Subsequently, Wessels' induced 500 residents at Bethelehem to rebel.
