Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford biawli, report as follows : -- On Tuesday, 20th January, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 227 head of cattle, most of which we Avere able to dispose of at the following prices;—Store cows £7 10s to £5 12s, fat cows £8 10s to £B, cows and calves £5 10s to £l, 18 month empty heifers 40s Gd ; 15 month empty heifers 37s 6d, mixed weaners 30s to 18s, vveaner heifers 19s, heifers calved £5 7s 6d, dairy cows £7 to £6 Lis, hulls £7 ss, yearling hulls £2 10s. On Wednesday, 27th January, we held our Te Wera sheep fail' and cattle sale in our Te Wera yards, when we had a good yarding of 307 head cattle and 1512 sheep. The following prices were realised:—Cows and calves £1 18s, heifers r.w.b. £4 3s, 18 months heifers £2 18s to £2 Is, empty heifers £3 10s, springing heifers £4 Is, 15 month steers £2 lis to £2 9s, 2 year old steers £4 15s, hulls £5 195," fat cows £5 7s, rams, 2-tooth Romney 3;', 1 gns to l.lgns, 2 tooth Lincoln rams 2i gns, ewes, 2 and 4 tooth 14s 2d, lambs 7s 6d, 2 tooth ewes 10s Od, fat and forward ewes 15s 7d to lis.

Since wo last reported we have sold i good deal of stock privately at the ollowing prices:—3$ year old bullocks GlO 10s and £9 15s, 15 month steers £3 13s, 2 year old heifers £4, 2 tooth wethers 15s 0d to 10s, 4 and 0 tooth wethers 18s, woolly lambs 13s Od, 2 iooth ewes 15s 6d, ewes and lambs .'2s, fat and forward ewes 10s.'
