OFFICERS' "REFRESHER" CAMP.

GATHERING AT WANCANUI.

As most of our readers are .aware an officers' refresher camp is-, being held at Wanganui at this time, and

, amongst those who are attending it (it may be mentioned incidentally), is '•the' worthy "member for " Stratford, Captain J. B. Hine. So far as tan be ascertained the officers of the; Reserve are to be.trtWfsed in of Territorial officers who have gone. or who' are, going, with the Expeditionary Forces. For the past week exercises have chiefly consisted of manual and musketry drill.' Afterwards officers were given the more advanced stages of squadron commands, and the last few days are being devoted to organisation, tactical situations, fire control, and,, field service conditions generally. Reveille is at 5.45 a.m.j aud the officers/in camp are expected to work till 8 p.m., with one hour off for eacti 'meal. , On. several days they have maxched ta>fche range at Putiki, and are £ettiiig remarkably fit. \- Camp breaks up to-morrpw (Saturday), and the general opinion expressed amongst those who have tajten part .in it-is that' it has been a very ehone,, and a very useful one from a defence point of view'.
