Time, 2min 33Jsec. F. 0. Porter, a well-known jockey, was seriously injured when riding Lady Oldwyn in the Maiden Hack Scurry at the Wairoa races yesterday. Porter was a well-known Gisborne trainer, but went back to the pigskin last November. He has showed up prominently this season, riding several winners in the South Island. No hope is entertained for his reroverv.
