A QUIET CAME AT "DRAW"

MAORI PIGEON PLUCKED. Peb Presb Association. Napier, January 24. Four young men were arrested on Saturday night on a charge of conspiracy to defraud a Maori of nearly £IOO. The Maori was travelling by Saturday's mail train from Wellington in the same carriage as the accused, who produced a pack of cards, and all played draw poker, with the result that the Maori lost the sum mentioned. Accused were on their way to Wairoa with a side-show for carnival week there, and are said to belong to Sydney.
