CATHOLIC FEDERATION.

HALF-YEARLY MEETING. Per Press Association. Wellington, January 21. The fourth half-yearly meeting of the Wellington Diocesan Council of the New Zealand Catholic Federation commenced at St. Patrick's Hall today. The Very Rev. Dean McKenna, V.G., presided, and. His Grace Archbishop O'Shea was present during a part of the proceedings. Among the delegates were: —Stratford, Mr H. J. Doherty; Wanganui, Very Rev. Dean Holly and Messrs Carmody and Redwood.

His Grace Archbishop O'Shea addressed the gathering, and congratulated the delegates on their attendance. He stressed the importance of the Federation movement, and its success in defeating the Bible-in-Schools movement. Ho urged them to continue, as there were many other matters besides the Bible-in-Schools which required the united action of Catholics. He. wished the meeting every success.
