A GRUESOME FIND.
About noon on Sunday week last (states the Sydney Daily Telegraph) a discovery -was made of certain human remains, supposed to lie those of an adult female person, on a ledge of rock ill Iteid Park, Mosinan, Sydney. The remains had apparently been there at least six months hidden from viewby a thick growth of lanfcana hush. Near the skull was found human hair, biown in color, and mixed with grey, with a pad and comb. Two teeth were missing from the upper jaw. The clothing had decayed heyond recognition, with the exception of the hoots, which were black button-ups. On a ledge of rock about three feet from the remains were found a woman's black straw hat trimmed with black feathers and black ribbon. At the back of the remains was a bundle tied with string. This contained a black corded silk skirt aud other articles. A linen handkerchief had the letter P. oi- J. worked in the corner. All the articles are well-preserved and of superior quality. Amongst the remains was found a gold hunting lever watch, chased casing, cord albert, gold ring set with rubies (two stones missing), a small cord bag containing split ring with padlock and key, metal needle case, a small penknife, button hook, and s 11 £d in money. The body .was removed to the morgue.
