UNEMPLOYMENT IN BRITAIN. RETURNS SHOW DECREASE. Tmu and Sydnky Sun Sbbvium. (Received 8 a.m.) London, January 20. The returns of 23,000 industrial linns show that unemployment has decreased since July. The trades most adversely affected are building, cotton, and furniture. DEATH OF A MELBOURNIAN. (Received 11.15 a.m.) London, January 20. Captain Charles Patterson of the 20th Lancashire Fusiliers, a Melbournian, died at the Leeds Military hosital.
