THE FRUIT INDUSTRY.

NURSERYMEN IN CONFERENCE. Pek Prebs Association. Wellington, January 21. The New Zealand Association of Nurserymen to-day discussed a remit urging the pushing on of registration and inspection of nurseries. Mr Kirk told the conference that there had been difficulties in the way of preparation of regulations governing the registration and inspection of orchards. It was hoped, however, to have these regitulations formed shortly and certain diseases would then be put on the schedule. It was decided to send a deputation to the Premier to urge that the promulgation of regulations be expedited. The President reported that minimum prices had been agreed upon for apple trees and rose trees to operate in 191(5. The prices fixed were:— AppV trees, £5 per 100 up to 500, and til 10s per 100. thereafter; roses, 12s per dozen.
