MOTHER AND HER CHILD.
DROWNED IN ATTEMPT AT RESCUE. Per Press Association. Blenheim, January 19. Particulars of the drowning fatality in the Wakamarina river on Friday show that Mrs Kes/Jer and three children went to the river in the evening to fish, when Lawrence, aged 21 years fell into the water, and in trying to rescue him the mother was also drowned. Herbert Keszler, the deceased woman’s husband, is a reservist, and left the Dominion shortly after the declaration of war.
