Gilbert Webb) the well-known musical critic of the "Referee," London, commenced recently on the fact that music would seem to lie putting a girdle round the earth. He only, however, gave one instance to justify the remark: "The gramophone records of Peter Dawson's voice already sold.is placed side by side would form a girdle round the world, 'a wonderful record' in a double sense. No matter where you lie in the Eng-lish-speaking world, be it the Wild West of America, Darkest Africa, or in the back blocks of Australia, there he is to be found singing, lie the weather conditions ever so adverse, always in good voice, and all that is required is a fresh needle for each song." Those who have not experienced the pleasure of hearing Peter Dawson si no; in the flesh, should not fail to take the opportunity of doing so during his forthcoming visit. He is, without doubtb, one of the finest"baritone singers tliat has ever toured New Zealand, and who, at the present time ocupies a premier London position and a popularity that is second to none. Mi' Dawson and .bis brilliant company give their concert in '.the Town Hall on Tuesday evening next. Box plan on "view at Grubb's.
