BOWLING. THE WELLINGTON TOURNAMENT Per Press 'Association. Wellington, January 6.' The final of the Wellington Centre howling tournament was played today, when Porteous (Wellington)'heat Beynon (Petone) after a good game, by 18 to 17. CRICKET. In the match, Canterhury v. Hawkes Bay, the latter team in their first innings put up a total of, 89. Hickmott 109, Whitta 43, and Thomas 43, i were Canterburyls biggest scorers in their first innings, which closed with 336 runs.
RIFLE-SHOOTING.
TARANAKI RIFLE ASSOCIATION
The Taranaki Rifle Avssociation hold their annual shooting meeting at the Rewa Rewa range, Waiwakaiho, on February 4th and February sth. The programme has been considerably enlarged since last year, and, in adition to the Grand Aggregate, there will also be aggregate prizes at the long and short ranges, as well as Tyro Aggregate and Tyro 500 Yards Range Aggregate. The prize-money has also been increased, and now amounts to £167, as well as the champion belt, the Tisch Memorial Cup, a gold medal, and three silver medals.
