Allen, speaking on finance, said that already a two million war loan had been floated with the assistance of the British Government, also a 3\ million loan to redeem portion of Sir Joseph Ward's loan coming due. These loans had been raised at 3J per cent., but at a discount, the price of issue being £95. These loans will, therefore, cost 4 per cent., including redemption, in 1928.
