ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.

CAR PITCHES OVER ROADSIDE INTO GULLY. Per Press Association. Nelson, January 4. Yesterday morning a serious motorcar accident happened on the Moutere Hills, whereby several members of a party, comprising Mr and Mrs W. A. Dee and their one-year-old son, and Mr and Mrs Albert Dee and their family, in all eight persons, sustained more or less serious injuries. In taking the curve the car went over the side of the road and fell into a gully about forty feet deep. It turned two somersaults and the occupants were thrown in all directions.

The children had a miraculous escape, but all the adults were injured, those most seriously hurt being Mrs W. A. Dee (several ribs fractured and serious internal injuries), Mrs A. Dee (left leg and right ankle broken), Mr W. A. Dee (light shoulder badly bruised and collarbone broken), Mr V. Dee (left hip badly bruised). Several doctors proceeded to the seene and attended to the injured, who were later brought to Nelson. INFANTILE PARALYSIS. Dunedin, January 5. Jas. William Blacklock, aged live years, son of Win. Blacklock, an ironmoulder living at Plunket street, St. Kilda, died suddenly this morning. The child suffered from infantile paralysis some time ago.
