THE POSITION IN ALBANIA. [Unixkd Puess Association.] ' Rome, January 5. A telegram from Durazzo states that the insurgents on Sunday demanded that the French and Serbian Minis* ters should be handed over. Later they attaqked the town.
! Essad Pasha appealed to the Italian Legation, and the warships Misurah and Sadegua silenced the insurgents. The Italian, French and Serbian Legations embarked on the warships. The Giornale d' Italia reports that a violent battle was fought at Tirana, between Essad Pasha and the rebels. I'IMBI AND SYDNKY ttUN HSBVIQM. London, January 5. The Times' correspondent at Rome says the situation in Albania is daily growing more alarming. The rebels sent a message to Durazzo, announcing their intention to march on the capital, and the Government is preparing to defend the city. An Italian cruiser has been stationed at Durazzo to protect the Italians.
