THE REINFORCEMENTS AT TRENi THAM. Dunedin, January 4. The Hon. J. Allen (Defence Minister), in the course of an interview today-,' said it Was intended to have the third and fourth reinforcements in camp at Trentham at the same time. They should have 3600 menu there before long. Half these reinforcements will leave the Dominion probably in February. "When they leave, more recruits will be obtained to keep the strength up to 3600. THE NAVUA'S PASSENGERS. SOME PRISONERS OF WAR. Auckland, January 4. The Navua, from Apia, brought Gaudin, who was sentenced to five years for acts of "war treason." German residents named - Claussen and Langen were sentenced to eight months' imprisonment for breach of parole, the former for not returning to his home at night, and the latte' - tor visiting one' of the islands without receiving written permission Col. Turner, who broke his leg at Samoa, is also a passenger by the vessel. Major B. Head, Captain R. Nieli, Lieut. A. Tole and twenty-three troopers who acted as guard to the prisoners, but most of whom have been invalided home also returned.
