A remarkable charge was preferred in the Police Court against Grant Harvey, the well-known author, viz., that Hervey falsely pretended to John Norton he had misconducted himself on two occasions with Mrs Noxton, and then made a wilful and false promise that he would supply information which would enable Norton to discover Mrs Norton misconducting herself with Henvey, by means cf which false promise Hervey attempted to obtain from Norton £2OO with intent to defraud. Hervey was remanded, bail of £2OO being granted.
